Repair Guide for Cherry Optical Mouse F670Here is a repair guide for the Cherry mouse M/N F670 (P/N F-6700). On this computer mouse the two buttons are integrated into the right and left upper plastic half. There are no explicit buttons but the whole upper plastic half "is" the button. After this mouse fall down onto the upper side, the buttons didn't click anymore. My tools: 1 clockmaker's Phillips head screwdriver (crossed PH00) and 1 clockmaker's slit screwdriver 1.2mm.
The inner black plastic of the top part (holding the two upper plastic halfs (the "buttons") has two little plastic noses. The defect was that the two black noses haven't been in the corresponding counterpart of the body, leading to missing spring tension to keep the buttons up. So the important step to get this spring tension back, is to first insert the two noses before closing the top part with a snap. This is, the noses are the first contact of the upper part and the body. Starting angle maybe 70 degrees. After closing it, try if you can here the buttons click again. Repeat if not ( I needed 2 tries). Then undo the steps 4. to 1. from above. Other ResourcesDisclaimer and CreditsWarning: These instructions are given without any warranty. They don't have to be complete or correct. Don't do any of the following steps if you're not sure of what you're doing. You could damage your computer mouse and you will lose your warranty. Everything you do will be at your own risk. This guide is a courtesy from "Baresi der Libero" for Repair4Mouse. |
